Rodden De Souza has been performing music in Goa since 1994 — at Goa’s finest hotels, private events, and on concert stages across the state. He started learning guitar from his parents at around 10 years old. Then along the way while in school he learnt solfeggio in a class organized in the local church and picked up whatever he could from people over the years. He was part or a church choir performing for competitions in the state and took part in church functions and competitions. He trained at the Department of Western Music at Kala Academy Goa for a short time studied vocal training under Mrs. Juliana D’Sa. He also studied under Roque Lazarus and finally completed grade exams in Classical Guitar (Trinity) and Theory of Music (ABRSM) under the guidance of Rui Lobo with distinction. He is not a hobbyist who learned to teach. He is a working musician who teaches what he has lived.

His music school in Goa, based in Calangute, North Goa is one of the very few in the region to cover eight disciplines under one roof: acoustic guitar, classical guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, ukulele, vocals, solfeggio, and music theory. In 2026, his business partner and he organised the Young Talent Music Competition at Kala Academy under the name of their company MuzikMinds (India) — giving all budding musicians a real stage to perform on, and not just a certificate to frame.
